Chopin en Vacances - Chopin on vacation in Komierowo
On July 7, 2024, a special musical event took place at Komierowo Palace – a concert as part of the prestigious CHOPIN en VACANCES 2024 Festival. In the beautiful surroundings of a historic manor and the picturesque nature of Kuyavia, music lovers from Poland and abroad had the opportunity to admire the artistry of young pianists.
This unique festival, whose mission is to promote the music of Fryderyk Chopin in extraordinary locations, gathered the most talented young artists in the so-called "Chopin age." The exceptional nature of the meetings – free of competitive elements – allowed for free and emotional interpretations performed by students and graduates of renowned music universities from Poland.
Magical concert program
At 3:00 PM, the park at Komierowo Palace was filled with the sounds of works by outstanding composers. During two recitals, Rio Ueyama and Anna Maria Urzędowska – young talents who have won numerous awards at international piano competitions – performed.
Recital No. 13 – Rio Ueyama
The 16-year-old artist from Warsaw delighted the audience with masterful interpretations:
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart – Piano Sonata in C minor K.457,
Fryderyk Chopin – Scherzo in E major op. 54 no. 4,
Sergiusz Prokofiev – Sonata No. 3 in A minor op. 28.
Despite his young age, Rio demonstrated masterful technique and artistic maturity, earning thunderous applause.
Recital No. 14 – Anna Maria Urzędowska
Anna, also boasting countless achievements, impressed with subtlety and depth of performance:
Ignacy Jan Paderewski – Variation in A major op. 16,
Camille Saint-Saëns – Etude in the form of a waltz op. 52 no. 6,
Fryderyk Chopin – including Ballade in G minor op. 23 and Waltz in E-flat major op. 18.
Both recitals were a feast not only for the ears but also for the hearts, evoking the spirit of a bygone era in harmony with the majesty of the surroundings.
