Dive into our history!
The book "Komierowscy – a family as old as Poland" presents readers with the colorful history of the Komierowski family, which for centuries took an active part in the most important events in Poland's history. From medieval battles, through national uprisings, to fights during World War II – the Komierowscy always stood in defense of Poland's independence.
In the book, we find answers to questions about the Komierowscy's contribution to the development of culture, economy, and social life. We learn which Komierowski was awarded the French Legion of Honor and the Polish Virtuti Militari cross, and what connections the Marszałkowska Street in Warsaw had with this family. The publication also shows how the writer Józef Komierowski sponsored one of the Polish bards and why Adolf Hitler came to Komierowo right at the beginning of the war.
The book, written in an accessible journalistic style, rich in anecdotes and wonderful photographs, is based on solid source documentation, relevant literature, and family accounts, especially from brothers Rafał and Piotr Komierowski. This remarkable work is the result of many years of work by Grzegorz Polak, a friend of the Komierowski family and the author of numerous publications on religious and historical topics.
We invite you to read and discover the history of one of the oldest and most distinguished families in Poland.
