Komierowo Palace in the hands of one family for 1000 years!
Komierowo Palace has been in the hands of one family for 1000 years! The Komierowski estate is a boutique hotel with a rich history. The palace walls still remember the Baroque era, and the family history dates back to the beginnings of the Polish state during the reign of Mieszko I.
Today, we share our heritage with you and invite you to this unique place where old Polish traditions blend with modern elegance. We offer guests a fully equipped hotel in the restored Komierowo Palace.

Diary of the last reconstruction 2012 – 2018
Devastated during the communist era, the monument required a major renovation. This task was undertaken by Piotr's daughter, Agnieszka Komierowska-Ziomek. The renovation lasted a full 6 years and involved not only restoration work but also extensive bureaucracy and complicated design works that were continually evolving. I invite you to immerse yourself in this fascinating story frame by frame and take a closer look at the challenges I faced during the reconstruction of our magnificent family palace.

The beginnings 2011
01
My first meeting with our family palace in Komierów had nothing of the charm of old legends and fairy tales. I saw... a ruined building, surrounded by a neglected park. It was hard to find even a trace of its former beauty. Instead of a neo-baroque-classical building, we had before our eyes a dying empty house. The sight tore my heart apart. We started construction work by removing all the plasters, demolishing unnecessary walls, dismantling the historic balustrade, cleaning up, and securing the roof against precipitation.
Endless mess 2012
02
The cleaning took several months. Then I thought, "Mother, how much work is still left here!" But I didn't say it out loud. Everyone around was saying it, so I didn't want to show that it was overwhelming me. Instead, I just kept to the schedule to move as smoothly as possible from one stage to the next.
Start of construction works 2013
03
Renovation work in the palace began in 2013. Over 5 years, about 600 people passed through the construction site, with around 30 working there daily. We added a conference room and a delivery area to the palace (a large single-story building with utility rooms). We also built a new boiler room and added an underground connector that is intended to link the palace with the new hotel section in the future.
Changes 2014
04
We had to build the foundations because the palace did not have any. We reinforced the soil with liquid glass injections, replaced almost all the ceilings, and completely replaced the last wooden floor with a new reinforced concrete ceiling. We built an elevator shaft.
Coordination at the construction site, removal of old walls and reshaping rooms 2016
05
I was very tired but at the same time fulfilled. We worked every day from 8 AM to 11 PM. I decided to dedicate myself entirely to this task and treated every finished detail as a personal success. Of course, there were many failures as well. However, the most difficult part was the complexity of this huge renovation. I had to coordinate many areas at once, from administrative work, permits, expert opinions, projects, contacts with contractors, to purchases and settlements. We completed all the connections – sanitary sewage, stormwater, and water drainage. We laid tens of kilometers of concealed installations (electrical, telecommunication, and sanitary). We also built 120 meters of pre-insulated pipes to supply the palace and the annex with heating and domestic or chilled water used for air conditioning. At the same time as the work in the palace, we began to restore the splendour of the surrounding park. It contained over 2,000 trees. We started with an inventory describing their size, species, and location on the map.
Storm 200km/h 11.08.2017
06
In 2017, a hurricane with a force of 200 km/h passed through the park, in which we lost over 700 specimens. For the next 3 years, we fought the effects of this destructive event. At that time, the Volunteer Fire Brigade from all over Poland helped us a lot. One of the firefighters, when he found out that I was Komierowska, widened his eyes. After work, he came up to me and said that he had imagined me as a dignified lady sitting in an armchair and petting a large, skinny... cat. I laughed to tears. I totally didn’t fit that description. He saw me in boots and work clothes, determining with the pavers the size of the aggregate fraction to harden the parking lots. And why a cat, of all things?!
Grand opening 2018

After many years of hard work filled with dedication and passion, the Palace in Komierowo has become a gem of Krajna once again. We offer our Guests 16 elegant rooms, a 16-hectare park, sports facilities, and a restaurant serving dishes prepared exclusively from fresh, natural products sourced from local suppliers.

I want to emphasize here that the entire renovation was financed by my Father – Piotr Komierowski, from private funds. The State did not contribute a single zloty. All 6 funding applications were rejected, informally justified by it being a private investment. I won't even mention that we had to repurchase the monument from the State Treasury after it was seized from us and completely destroyed.
